Dr. Holterman who has 29 years of experience in the medical field majored in Biology at Yale University from 1976 and 1980 and graduated from University of Virginia’s School of Medicine with a degree in medicine and immunology in 1988. He later undertook his residency in general surgery at the University of Virginia Health Sciences and later completed a fellowship in pediatric surgery at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Medical Centre through the University of Washington. The doctor who is based in Peoria, Illinois has been a full professor at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine for seven years. He teaches surgery and pediatrics. Dr Holterman previously served as surgeon-in-chief at Advocate Christ Children’s Hospital between August 2008 and December 2010. Also, he practiced as an attending pediatric surgeon at Rush University Medical Center between August 2000 and July 2012.

In 2012, Dr. Holterman founded and is CEO of Mariam Global Health which is a global investment and business management firm that develops and implements revolutionary scientific techniques.

Dr. Holterman who specializes in pediatric surgery has performed extensive medical research in the fields of regenerative medicine, stem cell therapies, obesity in teenagers and revolutionary cancer treatments.

In his time, Dr. Holterman has received four awards among them the Innovative Research Award from the American Diabetes Association that focuses on funding research into diabetes cures and prevention. He also won the National Merit Scholar, NIH Medical Scientist Training Program and America’s Top Doctor

He has also written several research papers that have been lauded as exceptional. He has also made presentations on cutting edge medical procedures on topics like bariatric surgery. This particular surgery is used to treat extreme obesity cases by removing a small part of the patient’s stomach in order to regulate food intake.

Despite his many professional obligations Dr. Mark Holterman supports many health charities among them; International Pediatric Specialists Alliance for the Children of Vietnam (IPSAC-VN). IPSAC-VN seeks to provide much needed healthcare and education to children in Vietnam.

  1. Going through some research work can at times be very interesting most especially, researches that has to do with the medical line.
